Is the space between thoughts inner peace ?

a quote from the author of “The Power of Now:” Eckhart Tolle

The more I read, the more I try to understand what is meant by enlightenment.

This quote I came across while reading “the almanack of naval ravikant.”

It made me realise, with reference to the descriptions made by naval, that mediation is indeed not “peace of mind” but “peace from mind.”

Our mind is basically an engine that’s constantly working in perceiving the external world, and we are constantly in a process of running scenarios of potential risks and judgements on certain things, basically in a tuggle between the regret of the past and the worries of the unknown future, where peace from mind places us no where but in the present.

In a present where the past and future don’t exist, where you are as you are, an existential being floating on a rock that circulates a ball of light which is neighboured by solar systems in the billions, nested in a galaxy that shares this universe with billions of others.

In context, our anxieties, worries, and issues are not that huge, when comparing it to the size of our universe.

To put things into perspective, watch this;

The size of existence

Probably a poor comparison to make, but then again, I’m currently freed from my mind, so I don’t really need to make sense.
